champagne-and-icecream:

you guys. i don’t normally get star struck but i was star struck as all get out yesterday. and still today. <3

after checking in my bag to fly from SFO to DC, I was walking to security when this guy that looked a lot like Eddie Redmayne (aka Marius from Les Miserables) walked by on my right. I was like, nah, no way. Then I remembered he has that new Stephen Hawking movie coming out and maybe he was in Silicon Valley for some science-y tech-y reason?  He was with these two older women who were clearly escorting him - I overheard them say “Oh, that’s where I know you from. You’re so talented!” - clearly they were airport staff and not his personal staff. I got so excited and then so disappointed as they carted him off to VIP security and I had to go through the lame regular person security.

I glumly made my way through security.. at the same time keeping my head up in case I happened to spot him again. “If I see him, I have to approach him and ask for a picture”. Nothing. I put my tennis shoes on (because OF COURSE I’M IN SWEATS AND HAVEN’T WASHED MY HAIR) and I look up and THERE HE IS.

I take a deep breath and I walk up to him (his back is sort of turned to me).  As I start to say, “Excuse me, I’m such a big fan, would you mind taking a picture?” he starts to take off his sweater. “Of course,” he turns around smiling, “just as I start to strip in the airport.” Me: nervous laugh. “Do you mind?” Old ladies - give them my iPhone. “as long as YOU don’t mind, Eddie” (me: bitches). Eddie - “of course not”. (i think he was dying to be rescued from these idiots).  Proceeds to TOUCH ME AND TAKE A PICTURE WITH ME LIKE WE ARE BFF. (thank god old lady took 2 pictures because the first one was blurry, smh, old people).

Me: “good luck on your new movie! it looks great”, get insanely nervous and run away.

I can’t believe how quickly I was transformed into a 15-yr old girl. Ahahah.

Seriously, he was soooo cute. He looks exactly the same in person. So adorable. So nice! So British <3.

I kept playing the situation in my head over and over throughout the day. I wish I’d sung “at the end of the day” or told him how I first fell for him in “My Week with Marilyn.”

Ah, if only I was more suave.

I keep checking the picture every few hours.Like, I can’t believe it happened. He IS SO CUTE. Still not over my starstruck-ness.

Lesson learned: no more traveling in sweats. must always be prepared to look cute in case I run into Eddie again.

bespokeredmayne:

“I’m just here as a fan,” (Armyan) Bernstein said to the audience. “You are here at the beginning of something miraculous. You’re here to witness the birth of a star.”

Bernstein recalled the first time he met Redmayne at an event for Les Miserables. “[Hugh Jackman] said, ‘You’ve got to meet Ed. He’s gonna steal your heart, but he’ll give it back to you … better than it was before.’”

Such lovely quotes about Eddie Redmayne from the Mill Valley Film Festival.

It’s certainly Redmayne’s film, and his performance is everything you could ask for: completely convincing in its physicality, credible in its pain, and warmly but not crassly optimistic in its nearly constant good temper.
